"Pied Piper" is the musical tale of the "Pied Piper of Hamelin" (also 'Hamlin') - A famous German legend, with a moral message. Find out more from Hamelin's own website.

The Piper banished a plague of rats from Hamelin, but was then refused his rightful payment. So, later he returned and, playing his magic tune again, the town's children were led off to the mountain, never to be seen again.

The "Pied Piper" is a musical written specifically for Primary School children. With all the pressures of curriculum and so on, it's increasingly difficult to create school productions. Because you get all the music pre-packaged, "Pied Piper" is something that is easier and effective to put together and perform.

The pied piper is essentially an educational resource pack for teachers. On the basis that there's rarely the time or inclination to compose, rehearse and produce full-scale musical productions, the Pied Piper fits perfectly. Furthermore, the musical and its story can be used as the basis for cross-curricular work
